Professor Pedro Pereira, from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Coordinator of the Master's in Renewable Energy Engineering, was the first guest on Antena 1 "Meta Zero" podcast about sustainability. The creator of the podcast is the journalist Rita Fernandes, who was distinguished with the Health Journalism Award (2024) and has closely followed issues related to climate change. "Meta Zero" comes at a time when COP29 (29th United Nations Climate Change Conference, 2024) is taking place.
According to journalist Rita Fernandes, “In 'Meta Zero,' I always raise a question on a topic and seek simple answers, free of prejudice, acknowledging my own faults and doubts as a citizen and consumer." The purpose is “to show that it is in our everyday decisions that we can reduce the impact of human activities on the planet, demonstrating that we can always get closer to the net zero emissions goal. The choice of 'energy/electricity' to open the podcast was also symbolic, like 'turning on the light' for the topic of sustainability."
The "Meta Zero" podcast episodes are available online on various platforms.
