Advanced Doctoral Conferences on Computing, Electrical and Industrial Systems (DoCEIS)

Logo DoCEISThe Advanced Doctoral Conference on Computational, Electrical and Industrial Systems (DoCEIS) aims to provide a space for the sharing and discussion of ideas and results of doctoral research in various interrelated areas of engineering, while promoting a strong multidisciplinary dialogue. In addition, the conference aims to create collaborative opportunities for young researchers, and provide an effective way to collect valuable feedback from colleagues in a friendly environment. As such, participants are challenged to look beyond the specific technical aspects of their research question and relate their work to the theme selected for the conference each year, namely, to identify how their research topics can contribute to that theme.

It should be noted that current trends in strategic research programmes point to the key role of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches in innovation. More and more funding agencies include this element as a key requirement in their research agendas. In this context, the challenge proposed by DoCEIS aims to contribute to the process of acquisition of such skills by doctoral students.

The conference is organized annually by the Doctoral Program in Electrical and Computer Engineering and open to doctoral students from all over the world. Previous editions have had an average of 80 to 100 participants from 20 to 25 countries. The conference is sponsored by SOCOLNET, IFIP, and IEEE IES, and the proceedings are published in book form by Springer (https://link.springer.com/conference/doceis).

International Young Engineers Forum on Electrical and Computer Engineering (YEF - ECE)

YEF ECE LogoElectrical engineers apply theory in order to obtain solutions to problems related to the development, design, and operation of hardware and software, control systems, electrical machines, and communication systems. Computer engineers are concerned with the design, development, and implementation of new computing technologies in a wide range of consumer, industrial, commercial, and military applications. In addition to development, design, operation, and research, electrical and computer engineers are typically involved in the manufacture, installation, and maintenance of devices Computer, electrical and electronic equipment and systems employed by a wide variety of organizations that produce, use, or provide services for such equipment, ranging from small electronic devices to large complex systems.

The International Young Engineers Forum seeks the latest developments and innovative applications in electrical and computer engineering, dealing with the design and use of systems, looking for efficient devices and systems with appropriate control algorithms to meet the needs of business and industry in a global economy. This event will be a unique opportunity for young engineers to present their ideas, allowing them to share experiences and become active internationally.

Young engineers/MSc students are encouraged to submit manuscripts with their latest innovative developments in Electrical and Computer Engineering, based on their MSc theses or early career projects.
